The word that Mike Modano and Brett Hull are teaming with Primo's founder Eddie Cervantes for a sports-themed restaurant is now official. Look for Hully & Mo Restaurant & Tap Room to have a very quiet opening in the Quadrangle right around Christmas. (No word yet on whether spit-roasted Sean Avery will be on the menu.)
"We just want to open the doors and have a few days to breathe before we ramp up for all the bowl games," says Eddie who reports that there will be lots of flat-screen TVs for game-watching.
Billionaire oilman Tim Headington (owner of downtown's Joule hotel) is providing some financial heft to the partnership.
For years, Eddie has run the hottest place on the McKinney Avenue strip, Primo's. "But we wanted Hully & Mo to be a destination place rather than on the main drag," he says. Consequently, it's located at 2800 Routh Street in the Quadrangle space formerly occupied by Riccardi's and J. Pepe's.
